Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the LASU FOCIT Alumni platform at lasufocit-alumni.org.ng, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, you should not use the platform.

2. Eligibility

Full membership is available to graduates of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, Lagos State University. Associate membership may be available to current students and faculty. All members must provide accurate information and complete the alumni verification process where applicable.

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your account credentials
  • Providing accurate and truthful information in your profile
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Notifying us of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for spam, harassment, or illegal activities
  • Submit false alumni verification information
  • Post misleading job opportunities or content
  • Scrape or bulk-collect member data
  • Impersonate another member or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Use the platform for commercial solicitation without approval

5. Content

You retain ownership of content you submit to the platform (profile information, posts, job listings). By submitting content, you grant the association a non-exclusive license to display and distribute that content within the platform for its intended purpose.

6. Moderation

All job postings, mentor applications, mentorship requests, and other submissions may be reviewed and moderated by association administrators. The association reserves the right to remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms.

7. Donations

Donations made through the platform are processed by Stripe. All donations are voluntary and directed to the LASU FOCIT Alumni Association for the stated purposes. Refund requests should be directed to the association treasurer.

8. Limitation of Liability

The LASU FOCIT Alumni Association provides this platform on an "as is" basis. We are not liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to career outcomes, mentorship relationships, or investment decisions.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
